Star Trek

So, me and [livejournal.com profile] ziyal went to see STAR TREK last night in Berlin (yay, for not having to endure the German dubbing!)
LOVED IT! Everybody who had any doubts about it, go watch it! It's really, really fun! Not just dumb action, but actually great dialog, awesome characters (I still have to ROFL, thinking about Chekov) and my favorite badass Mr. Sylar as Spock. They did a great job of catching the TOS flair, IMO.

the only thing I didn't like: cut for spoiler )

I haven't updated for a long time. I just didn't feel like writing because nothing important is happening in my life atm and I didn't feel like writing. I am reading my flist every day though!

So, I've been at my parents place for over a month now. Not having to wash my clothes or buy my own food feels great and there haven't been any huge fallouts between me and my dad yet, which is pretty good considering we're both very pigheaded.
I'll drive to Potsdam either Wednesday or Thursday for a week though. Gonna visit my bro and have to take care of some stuff.
I also want to work on my Indiana Jones action figure display and I really really hope to finally be able to take some pics of my apartment. I keep promising to post pics, I know.
Afterwards, it's back to my parents and then it won't be much longer until TEXAS! Weehee! I can't wait to see my adopted family again. It's been way too long.
Of course, my mom is already saying that I might not be able to leave at all, if this influenza thingy is getting worse. Oh well, as long as they cancel all flights when I'm already in TX..... ;-)

Other than that, the weekend has been pretty scarry. I had my blood tested last week because I am constantly tired. One of my liver parameters (GOT) was too high, which freaked me out immensly. Those of you who know me, know, that I get scared easily and always expect the worse when something ain't right with my body. Looking up all the symptoms on google didn't help either because they all fit! People also constantly tell me how yellow my skin is looking (can that be caused by eating 3 carrots every day?)
...... So I went back today for an ultrasound of my liver, gallbladder and so on, which was negative. The doc doesn't know what caused the abnormal liver value. I'll have to go back next week and they'll test my blood again, as the GOT might be affected by a hard workout as well. So we'll see how that goes....

Fandom wise...... I'm 3 eps behind on Heroes and 2 eps on 90210. I am up to date with LOST though, due to the fact that there wasn't an ep last week. And I still haven't found the guts to watch the last ER. As for Smallville, I'll start with season 6 tonight. [livejournal.com profile] stormymouse did you know that CKR was in one season 5 ep?!

quantumgirl: (campy)
It's not my fault. Suddenly, my hands were typing "Lex/Clark slash" into google and hitting Enter........ Make it stop!!!! I was doing so good. I actually managed to watch the first 4 Smallville seasons w/out having any slashy thoughts whatsoever, and then Lex said something about Clark being a great Dad one day, and the way he looked at him..... and just BANG it hit me. For once, I'd like to be able to watch a TV-Show w/out that happening.
quantumgirl: (crazy people)
haha, my mom bought me some Spiderman PJs. Does that mean she finally accepted that I'll never grow up?
quantumgirl: (this is heavy)
I still haven't watched last weeks ER. I'm dreading it. It was the last episode and I just don't want it to end. Someone give me a kick in the butt, so I'll watch it already!
quantumgirl: (AHH)

WTF it's freaking snowing! :-o
Global warming, where are you?

quantumgirl: (damn)
ok, so the last ER ep had Carter, Carol, Benton and most importantly Doug in it. Seeing Clooney return to the show made my week, month even. I can't believe there are only 3 more eps to go and, to say it with Michael Jacksons words: This will be the final curtain call.
The stories have become so good again this season. I don't want it to end. *sniff*
And on a side note: I really gotta get up to date with Clooney's career again. I kinda stoped following when he started doing all those political movies, as those aren't my kinda genre, but seeing him in that blue docter's outfit, mumbling in his dark voice.... GAH! Goosebump alarm!
quantumgirl: (u2)
*squee* My mom sent me U2s new album, the limited edition even. And some chocolate! Aw, I love my mom.
quantumgirl: (all going to hell)
Damn, my knee is acting up again. I alreday had that problem a few months ago. Still don't know how I'm supposed to walk to university tomorrow. It's a 30 minute walk.
I should go see a doc about it, I guess, but won't have time for that next week. Damn! I'm 24 years old. I should NOT be having problems like that!

YAY, I had my last written exam today! No more lectures! Now all that's left are some lab practices and 5 very important oral exams, which I'll take this and also next year, before starting on my diploma thesis hopefully by the end of 2010.
quantumgirl: (u2)
Only 8 more das until the new U2 album will be released over here. *squee* Finally!
quantumgirl: (dork)
OK, so THIS excites me immensely!
quantumgirl: (don't scream)
TV episodes should not end like that. Not good for my heart, no, no, no.
quantumgirl: (don't scream)
GAH! Lost is back!
quantumgirl: (texas flag)
German dubbing stinks! Thank god for CNN.....
Oh, and I just spotted Steven Spielberg. Major fandom squee!
quantumgirl: (don't scream)
Current status: -15°C! :-o
And I have to leave the house in 10 minutes. Just kill me! No wait, the cold is gonna take care of that.
quantumgirl: (partners friends ..... lovers)
Anybody of you guys know "Fear Itself"? It's a pretty cool show, kinda like "Outer Limits", only a bit more bloody. Sadly, I think it got canceled again already.
Anyway,  I was just watching episode 3, and look who's there: Colin Ferguson, all bloody and sexy looking. Gah! I love surprises like that!

quantumgirl: (dancing hoff)
Yay, my parents decided to drive me back to Potsdam tomorrow. So I won't have to take the cold train and I can actually take all of my xmas presents with me..... and the content of my parent's fridge. hehe

And on a totally different note: season 4 of the German "I'm a celebrity, get me out of here" version will premiere next Friday. *squee*

Oh what the heck, since I'm already confessing me guilty TV pleasures to you: I'm also addicted to 90210 (the new show). I've only seen the first 8 eps so far. I really really hope they'll manage to get more folks from the old show to guest star. I'd love to see Luke Perry return.
I'm in love with Rob Estes already, and feel the sudden urge to download some Melrose Place eps. Oh, and Ryan Eggold looks pretty promising too.

quantumgirl: (Indy - he's back)
Couldn't beat "The Dark Knight", but that was to be expected. Still, this result should convince the network, Lucas and Co to start working on Indy V!
